Providoor today announced the appointment of the businesses first CEO, Tim MacKinnon, effective 1 December 2021.
Premium meal delivery service, Providoor is prepared by restaurant chefs and delivered via certified cold freight, eschewing the ready-to-eat status quo, to be finished by the customer in their own kitchen, actively involving people in a premium cooking experience and giving them as close to an in-restaurant meal as possible.
Tim MacKinnon previously held the position of managing director and vice president of eBay Australia, and brings a wealth of experience to Providoor. In his role at eBay Australia, MacKinnon was focused on the growth of Australian retailers across online, mobile, local, and global commerce platforms.
Speaking of the appointment, Providoor founder and chef, Shane Delia said: “Our aspirations for Providoor have always been for it to become a global player and to be a global player you need a world class team. We are delighted with the appointment of Tim as Providoor’s first CEO and know that we have the right person at the helm to take Providoor to the next level.
We are looking forward to expanding our offering further north as we move into Queensland in early 2022. Providoor has been a labour of love and so important to me and my hospitality peers as we navigated through the past 19 months. Providoor wasn’t set-up as a quick fix. We want to continue to offer that connection between the at-home diner and chefs and restaurants, offering high quality meals at home,”
MacKinnon, Providoor’s incoming CEO said: “Marketplaces have changed the world. Great food changes the way people connect. Shane created an amazing new business to give people access to great food more often and extends restaurants into people’s homes. I’m excited to lead the next phase of scaling the great restaurants on Providoor and creating special food experiences across Australia and the world.
