Luxury accommodation is taken to a new level at Boydell’s African Safari Tent in the picturesque Hunter Valley. Set against the backdrop of rolling vineyards and a vast rural landscape, the safari tent offers guests a private romantic getaway and ‘off-grid’ glamping experience like no other.

Exclusive to just one booking at a time, the glamping tent, located at Boydell’s vineyard in East Gresford, provides guests access to the gorgeous 200-acre property that is home to rolling vineyards, grazing cattle and lots of local wildlife.

The safari tent, imported from Africa, takes luxury to a new level. Designed for the ultimate couples getaway, it boasts a king-size canopy bed with the finest linens, a freestanding copper bath, wide timber flooring, and an outdoor hot shower from where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the Australian bush. An open fire pit is perfect for stargazing with a glass of Boydell’s wine in hand.

Boydell’s has been owned and operated by Daniel and Jane Maroulis since 2015. The picturesque vineyard on the Allyn River is named after Charles Boydell, who settled the property in 1826 and planted some of the first vines in the Hunter. Jane said the view from the tent is remarkable and the experience is one of a kind – it’s the perfect romantic escape.

“We wanted to give our visitors a unique experience unlike anything else in the Hunter and that’s what we’ve done.”

Quickly making waves in the industry for its award-winning small-batch wines, Boydell’s Cellar Door and Restaurant is just a short drive from the property in the historic township of Morpeth and is the perfect pit-stop to grab some extra supplies for your stay. The cellar door with adjoining restaurant opened in 2019 and reflects the rich history of the vines and the link with Charles Boydell.

“Our guests love that they can dine at Boydell’s Restaurant or pop in for a tasting at our cellar door in Morpeth as part of the experience of staying with us at the safari tent.

Accommodation packages start at $475 per night with a minimum two-night stay. Check-in each Tuesday and Saturday.

The tent is self-catered and boasts an outdoor barbeque and kitchenette and guests will receive a complimentary bottle of Boydell’s wine to enjoy on arrival. To book visit www.boydells.com.au.
